‘Hungry’ Argentina Megastar To Start Both Key Games For Inter Milan Against Udinese & Arsenal

Inter Milan will once again look to their captain as the fixed point in attack, with Lautaro Martinez set to start both key fixtures against Udinese in Serie A and Arsenal in the Champions League.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lautaro is the only forward certain of a starting role in both matches.

The Italian daily highlights the Argentine’s hunger and determination to rediscover his scoring touch in the league, where a goal has eluded him for three games.

Against Parma, Napoli and Lecce, the latter featuring only a late cameo, the Inter captain failed to find the net.

“It’s strange but true,” writes La Gazzetta.

“This season, however, he has never gone longer without scoring. On the two previous occasions, in September and October, the Toro always satisfied that hunger at the fourth attempt.”

The expectation, therefore, is that another response could be imminent.

Alongside Lautaro in Udine, Cristian Chivu is expected to give Francesco Pio Esposito another opportunity from the start.

The young striker comes into the match on the back of his decisive goal as a substitute against Lecce, which sealed an important win for Inter.

The partnership between the two forwards is not new. Wednesday’s goal stemmed from a combination between Esposito and Lautaro, and earlier this season the youngster has already provided two assists for the Argentine.

La Gazzetta underlines that this will be more than simple rotation, noting that “Lautaro makes Esposito feel protected and supported, helping him take flight.”
