Report about Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold is worrisome

The Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Sam Darnold have been nothing but optimistic about his chances of playing through a sudden oblique injury in their playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.
But on Saturday morning, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter had a report that included some concerning new information.
Seahawks coach ‘really optimistic’ QB Sam Darnold will play vs. 49ers
“Seahawks QB Sam Darnold hasn’t thrown a football since he hurt his oblique Thursday,” Schefter wrote on social media. “The Seahawks believe, but don’t know, that he will be OK to start tonight’s game vs. the 49ers. Backup QB Drew Lock took the reps the past two days and is ready if needed.”
NFL Network’s Steve Wyche shared his own report from Seattle’s Lumen Field on Saturday morning, and while he had similar information that he relayed from a Seahawks official, Wyche’s report seemed more encouraging overall on Darnold’s status.
Can Seahawks beat 49ers if Drew Lock is QB instead of Sam Darnold?
“(The Seahawks official) said first off, when Darnold sustained this injury, he said it was something he had never felt before, so they were very cautious. They basically shut him down,” Wyche said. “But they said not only are they optimistic, but that Darnold himself feels super confident that he will be able to get out and play. Now they’re going to work him out before kickoff, but again, all signs are indicating that Sam Darnold will be good to go for the Seahawks.”
Darnold, who is a Pro Bowler for the second straight season, started all 17 games for the Seahawks as they finished 14-3 to win the NFC West and take the top seed from the NFC into the playoffs.
