2 ex-Broncos players set to face old team with Bills

Denver Broncos fans should recognize at least one familiar face when the Buffalo Bills visit Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday.
Matt Prater, who served as Denver’s kicker from 2007-2014, has handled kicking duties in Buffalo this season following a Tyler Bass injury. He’s 18-of-20 on field goal attempts in 15 games with the Bills, including a long of 52 yards. He went 2-of-2 on field goals and 3-of-3 on extra points in Buffalo’s wild-card win last week.
While playing for the Broncos, Prater set a then-NFL record with a 64-yard field goal during the 2013 season (that record stood until 2021). Prater’s 682 points scored with Denver rank fourth in franchise history.
The Bills also have a second former Broncos player on their roster in safety Sam Franklin, who was signed by Denver during free agency last spring but later cut following training camp. Franklin recorded 13 tackles in 17 games this season, playing primarily on special teams.
Of note: Buffalo offensive lineman Connor McGovern (28 years old) is not to be confused with former Broncos lineman Connor McGovern (32 years old).
