2 Buffalo Bills running backs receive AP All-Pro honors

Buffalo Bills running backs James Cook and Ray Davis were both honored as All-Pros by the Associated Press on Saturday.Cook was named to the second-team at the running back position, while Davis was named to the first-team as a kick returner. Both players made a huge impact for the Bills in 2025. Cook led the NFL with 1,621 rushing yards. He secured his first career rushing title and he is the first Bills player to do so since O.J. Simpson in 1976.Cook also led the NFL in yards before contact with 519, and put up 12 rushing touchdowns, good for fifth in the NFL. He added 291 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air, bringing his output for the season to a total of 1,912 yards and 14 scores. The Atlanta Falcons’ Bijan Robinson was named the first-team running back with 2,298 total yards. While Cook occupied the reigns at RB for the Bills, Davis found another way to make a tremendous impact on a playoff team. He led the NFL in kick return average among players with at least 20 attempts with 30.4 yards per return, and his one kick return touchdowns tied for the league lead.Impressively, Davis received the national recognition despite not returning kicks for the Bills until Week 9.”He’s embraced a role that maybe wasn’t his initial goal,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott said last month. “And yet at the same time, he saw an opportunity, and he took advantage of it, which I think is really, really cool to see. He’s taken a lot of pride in doing well.” Special teams and the running game both play crucial roles in playoff football, and the Bills enter the playoffs with the league’s top rushing attack (159.6 yards per game), and the league’s most productive return man. We’ll see the impact that Cook and Davis can make with the ball in their hands during the wild-card matchup Sunday at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
