Jack Draper set for ATP return as first tournament after injury is named

Jack Draper’s 2025 season has been put on hold for over half a year due to a left arm injury.

The left-hander, who climbed as high as world number four after his Indian Wells title run, has been out of action for seven months.

His comeback was initially targeted for the Australian Open, but plans changed when he pulled out ahead of the tournament.

Draper is now expected back in February, starting with Great Britain’s Davis Cup qualifier against Norway.

His involvement in an additional event was confirmed on Wednesday.

The Rotterdam Open released its full entry list for the 2026 tournament on Wednesday evening.

Draper’s name appeared alongside top players such as Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Other notable entries include Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Bublik and British number two Cameron Norrie.

Draper had planned to take part in the 2025 edition but pulled out after suffering a hip injury during his Australian Open fourth round match against Carlos Alcaraz.

Fans will be hoping the Briton can build some momentum in February ahead of his Indian Wells title defence in March.

Stan Wawrinka handed Rotterdam Open wildcard

Stan Wawrinka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has been given a wildcard entry into the 2026 Rotterdam Open.

The Swiss player won the tournament back in 2015, beating Tomas Berdych in the final. He also reached the final in 2019, though he lost to Gael Monfils that year.

Wawrinka, now 40, announced last December that this would be his final season on tour, a decision that disappointed many fans.

He recently put in a strong showing at the United Cup, including a win over Shanghai Masters finalist Arthur Rinderknech.

Wawrinka will be hoping to carry that momentum into next week’s Australian Open – the same event where he captured his first Grand Slam title back in 2014.
