In the series-deciding game in Indore on January 18, New Zealand put up a massive 337 batting first, with Mitchell once again starring with a hundred. The Kiwi vice-captain was ably supported by Glenn Phillips who also hit a ton.
India lost the match as New Zealand clinched the series 2-1 despite a Virat Kohli century.

New Zealand have visited India for a bilateral ODI series seven times in the past before the ongoing three-match series. The Black Caps finally ended their wait for a ODI series win on Indian soil in 2026, after 37 years.
The first time they visited India was in 1988/89 for a four-match series, which India won 4-0.
