The TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox Chronograph, now in 41mm

TAG Heuer expands its Carrera lineup with the introduction of a new 41mm Carrera Chronograph series, a trio of models that evolve the Carrera Glassbox design introduced in 2023. First launched in 1963 by Jack Heuer, the Carrera, a name taken from the Carrera Panamericana, then a famously dangerous road race, became an icon for its clarity, proportion, and precision timing. Over six decades, the model has evolved into one of TAG Heuer’s most enduring designs. The 2026 Carrera Glassbox Chronograph introduces a new 41mm case that will complement the 39mm Glassbox models in the collection. The larger dimensions maintain balanced proportions and the essential Carrera comfort and readability, but deliver a stronger wrist presence.
The 100m water-resistant stainless-steel case with brushed and polished surfaces measures 41mm in diameter, 47.48mm lug-to-lug, and 14.17mm in thickness. Its signature feature remains the domed sapphire crystal, curved along the dial’s edge to merge seamlessly with the case. The absence of a fixed bezel emphasises the chronograph’s open, instrument-like dial layout. The signed crown is at 3 o’clock, two round pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock control the chronograph functions. The caseback is sapphire, offering a view of the in-house movement. The case is engraved with the Victory Wreath, a Carrera hallmark symbolising racing triumph.
Three dial options, all with a no-date display, are offered at launch. The Blue edition features a circular-brushed blue dial with matching “azurage” chronograph subdials, rhodium-plated indexes, and white Super-LumiNova. The Teal Green version keeps the same monochromatic layout and finishes, with dynamic light-play across the dial and flange. The Black variant is the most sport-oriented, featuring red chronograph hands and a red outer ring that contrasts with the deep black dial. All models feature three recessed subdials, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, running seconds at 6, and a 12-hour counter at 9, a classic layout. The tachymeter and minute scale are printed on the curved flange.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox Chronograph 41mm watches are powered by the in-house calibre TH20-01, a column-wheel automatic chronograph with an 80-hour power reserve. The vertical clutch ensures smooth chronograph engagement, while the movement operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour. The openworked rotor, shaped like the TAG Heuer shield, is visible through the display back.
Each variant is delivered on TAG Heuer’s seven-row steel bracelet, a reinterpretation of the vintage “beads-of-rice” design combining brushed and polished links, closed with a butterfly folding clasp with push-button release.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox Chronograph 41mm models will be available from January 2026 as part of the permanent collection, priced at CHF 7,500. For more details, visit tagheuer.com.
