Natalya heel turn costs Maxxine Dupri Intercontinental championship

When Natalya cozied up to Maxxine Dupri just before she was to head out to the ring for her Intercontinental championship rematch against Becky Lynch on Monday Night Raw this week in Belfast, it seemed a strange bit of timing. Sure, Dupri had trained in the Dungeon and come up under her tutelage but why now?

Indeed, Nattie was right there to put Lynch’s foot on the rope to ensure Dupri failed to regain the title. Lynch took advantage of the shock and surprise, scoring the pinfall shortly after. The issue continued after Becky exited to the back, with Natalya launching an attack Dupri was powerless to do anything about.

There has been at least some talk of Nattie doing her “low key legend” heel bit on WWE television, even just from fans who have been wanting to see it. It would appear the creative team finally agreed to it, and it’s on.

Lynch remains Intercontinental champion and Dupri gets to be the first to fight back against a legend on what could be one of her last big runs on TV.
