Blue Jays to don jersey patch as part of 50th-season celebration

As part of their 50th season celebrations, the Blue Jays will wear a commemorative patch throughout the 2026 season, the team announced on Tuesday.

The patch — which will live on the team’s jersey in its regular uniforms and on its hats in the City Connects — is a nod to the team’s logos throughout the years and includes the original split font from the inaugural 1977 season.

“The colour palette includes vintage turquoise, royal blue, and modern red, representing shades from the club’s past and present, connecting old to new, while the gold outline symbolizes the significant 50th milestone,” the team said in a release.

Meanwhile, the Rogers Centre 100-level concourse will include eight installations honouring players, moments and milestones in franchise history. A separate display will showcase team accomplishments and artifacts from the 1992 and 1993 championship seasons.

Ahead of the March 27 home opener against the Athletics, an on-field ceremony will celebrate 50 years of the franchise as well as the Blue Jays’ 2025 AL pennant.

Additional milestone days and promotions are yet to be announced.
