Teyana Taylor, a newly crowned Golden Globe winner for her turn as revolutionary Perfidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, took on the persona of another strong woman in a promo ahead of her guest-hosting stint this week on Saturday Night Live.
In the promo, Taylor is having a conversation with SNL‘s Ashley Padilla who reveals that fellow castmember Andrew Dismukes “by accident” had stolen her eggplant parm from the kitchen.

Taylor will have none of it. “We’re going to his dressing room,” she says. “He’s gonna regret eating that parm — let’s go.”
Cut to Taylor and Padilla in the dressing room, with Taylor now dressed like Angela Bassett from Waiting to Exhale. Like Bassett’s Bernadine in the 1995 movie when she finds out her husband is leaving her, she proceeds to crash out, trashing the room and lighting Dismukes’ stuff on fire (warning: some bobblehead dolls may have been harmed during the production). Padilla attempts to join her but can only marginally keep up.
“Is this about the parm?” Desmukes wails when he sees the destruction. Replies Taylor’s Bernie, again mimicking the movie: “Get your (bleep) and get out!”
Taylor, who is in the Oscar conversation for her One Battle role and who currently co-stars opposite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in The Rip, is hosting this week’s SNL with musical guest Geese.
