Tottenham are working on a deal to sign Andy Robertson from Premier League rivals Liverpool this month.
Robertson, 31, is out of contract in the summer, and Spurs had been tracking the full-back to get him to sign on the dotted line when his deal was up. However, they have now brought forward their plans for the Scottish star.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, their pursuit has been brought forward in an effort to strengthen head coach Thomas Frank’s squad immediately. The Liverpool legend has won it all at Anfield, and the report adds Spurs are hoping he will add experience and leadership to their ranks.

Over the summer, Robertson had attracted interest from Atletico Madrid, whp had been seeking reinforcements on the left side of defence after Reinildo and Cesar Azpilicueta left.
However, the Spanish giants opted to sign Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta instead. And he has since slipped down the pecking order under Arne Slot following the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
Robertson was asked about his future last month and he admitted he’s “a player who wants to play”.

“I’ve got five months left and we need to see what the option is to stay or if there’s options to go and things like that,” Robertson said. “I need to sit down with my family and decide.
“After a stressful summer, I’m just trying to enjoy being a part of it and being a Liverpool player.
“I wanted to qualify for the World Cup and thankfully, we’ve managed to do that. I need to see what myself and my family wants going forward.”
Robertson joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and has made 363 appearances, providing 12 goals and 68 assists.
In that time he’s won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. He’s also set to captain Scotland this summer as the Tartan Army make their return to the World Cup.
Destiny Udogie has been Tottenham’s first-choice left-back – but he has only made 10 starts in the Premier League this season. Djed Spence, Archie Gray and Micky van de Ven have all been used as cover.
Ben Davies filled in at left-back in recent weeks, but it was confirmed on Monday he will undergo surgery on an ankle fracture. Spurs have signed 19-year-old left-back Souza from Santos already this window.
