Great Ormond Street Hospital Choir takes to Britain’s Got Talent stage to help beat childhood cancer

Saturday 2 May at 8:50pm
Supported by Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity Patron Simon Cowell, the choir brought the incredible spirit of the hospital to the Britain’s Got Talent stage. They were there to shine a light on the charity’s Build it. Beat it. appeal to build a new Children’s Cancer Centre and help save more lives.
Sadly, around 1,900 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year. And when cancer hits, childhood can suffer.
That’s why Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is building a new Children’s Cancer Centre – to help more children get the care they need and the childhood they deserve.
With cutting-edge facilities and an environment where pioneering research can thrive, the centre will be a beacon of hope for families facing the unimaginable.
The world-leading Children’s Cancer Centre will feature:
A 20% increase in capacity, so more children can be treated
State-of-the-art wards designed to keep children connected to loved ones in a ‘home from home’ environment
A critical care unit with dedicated family spaces and on-site accommodation, so families can stay together
New imaging technology to better understand and treat cancer
A new hospital school, with more space for learning and play
Green spaces and a roof garden, so children and their families can spend time outside, even when they can’t leave the hospital
The charity has an expert team of doctors, builders, nurses, researchers and many more helping to build the new centre. Now they just need you.
If we can help build it, we can help beat cancer for more children.
Be part of it.
