DJ reveals what happened during ‘awkward’ dance at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding | ITV News

The DJ who played at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding has described what he believed happened during the first dance, after the 26-year-old claimed Victoria Beckham “hijacked” his and Nicola Peltz’s first dance.

On Tuesday, Brooklyn launched a lengthy attack on both his parents in a post on Instagram where he rebuked their behaviour and attitude towards his wife, going as far as to claim he does not want to reconcile with them.

In the Instagram post, Brooklyn accused his mother of dancing “very inappropriately” with him at his wedding, adding that he had “never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life”.

Since then, people have been widely speculating about what could have happened at the wedding.

Speaking on This Morning on Friday, DJ Fat Tony said there was “no Spice Girl action”, adding that he said it was “inappropriate” because of the timing.

Describing what happened, he said: “So basically Mark Anthony was performing on stage. He then called Brooklyn onto the stage.

“Brooklyn went onto the stage, where the next minute, everyone was expecting it to be Nicola to go up and do the first dance.

“And then Mark Anthony asks the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage. And then he says, Victoria, come to the stage.

“So Victoria is by the stage, she goes onto the stage. And of course, at that point, Brooklyn’s suddenly, literally devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife.

“Then Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out. Brooklyn’s stuck there on stage.

“They do this dance and Mark Anthony’s like, ‘Go put your hands on your mother’s hips’. And it was a Latin, you know, it’s a Latin thing.

“And the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room.”

DJ Fat Tony said he had played at a lot of Beckham parties, adding that they are a “very dancy, close-knit family.”

He continued: “This is all about how Brooklyn feels. If he felt it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate.”

Dermot O’Leary said it sounds like it happened “in the spur of the moment”, to which DJ Fat Tony replied “it really was”.

He also played at the brunch the day after the wedding, which he said was “the most awkward part of it all” because everything that had happened on the night was “discussed among all the guests the next morning”.

He continued: “Everyone was talking about how sad that part of it was” the next day, but added that “I think that too much is being read into it.”

On Tuesday, David Beckham made his first public appearance after his son addressed the long-rumoured family feud.

The former footballer was recording a podcast at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

After leaving the podcast studio, David did not respond to ITV News’ questions regarding Brooklyn’s statement, simply replying with: “Hey, how are you? Good afternoon”.

ITV has contacted representatives of Sir David and Victoria Beckham for a response.
