Police responding to report of threat on UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – Police are responding to a threat report Friday at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater at Rock County campus.

An alert on the university’s page posted just before 3:15 p.m. said police are responding to a “life safety threat” on the Janesville school’s campus.

The university said there is no active threat on the Whitewater campus.

No other details were provided.

Rock County Communications said as of 3:28 p.m. that police had been on scene for about 15 minutes for an active emergency.

According to UWW Rock County’s website, just over 830 students are enrolled at the school.

Janesville Police Department did not have any information on this alert.
