“To be honest, I didn’t even know if it went in. At the time I was just praying. But luckily I saw the ref look at his watch and he gave it.
“It’s nice to be on the other end of a result like that tonight.”
On this result being for the fans: “Yeah, 100%. I was on the sideline for most of the game and you can feel the energy from the away end.
“I think between now and the end of the season, we’re going to need that. I know it’s been a tough watch at times but we know as a group of players, we haven’t been good enough.
“We haven’t given them loads to cheer about but you can hear them and they’ve got to be with us and trust me, the players will be fighting. We care, they do too, so hopefully we can bounce on this now.”
