One of The Masked Singer contestants, Sloth, has successfully kept their identity under wraps for several weeks now.

As they gear up to perform on the ITV stage once again, fans have been attempting to piece together who might be beneath the costume.

So far on the show hosted by Joel Dommett, Sloth has dropped several hints about their identity, including appearing in exercise clothing, brandishing handcuffs, playing snooker, and spending time in the jungle.

One eagle-eyed viewer has analysed these clues and is convinced Sam Thompson is the person concealed within the Sloth outfit.

Writing on Reddit, they explained: “I’m sticking with Sam Thompson for now. Not sure if the politic clues are trying to throw us off (If it’s a politician I’m between Alistair Campbell or Andy Burnham).”

Breaking down the clues revealed so far, they believe the “handcuffs” is a “specific reference to a viral stunt where Sam was handcuffed to his best friend and podcast co-host, Pete Wicks, for 24 hours”.

They noted the jungle hint is a clear nod to his victory on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2023, reports the Mirror.

The viewer continued by suggesting the “Guide to Manchester” clue represented Sam’s Match Ball Mission for Soccer Aid, when he travelled 260 miles from London to Manchester (Old Trafford) on foot and by bicycle.

Lastly, the alarm clock could be linked to Sam’s early morning commitments as he hosts the breakfast programme on Hits Radio.

Viewers of The Masked Singer held differing views, with one pointing to additional hints suggesting a snooker professional: “Spin Doctors (Putting spin on a cue ball), Century Reps (A century break in snooker), Pot of Wax (Cue wax). I think it’s Steve Davis. His distinctive accent really became noticeable in the sing off.”

Another viewer speculated: “Sloth, I’m not certain of at all. Last week I thought it was Ed Gamble, this week I think it’s Greg James.”

The wait to discover who’s behind the Sloth costume may soon be over, as two identities are due to be unveiled this evening.

With judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Mo Gilligan welcoming special guest Perrie Edwards, audiences can expect a double reveal.

The Masked Singer airs tonight on ITV at 7pm.
