Country music singer says Trump supporters and MAGA are not Christian. Here’s why

Bryan Andrews has had plenty to say about Donald Trump and the MAGA movement of late and none of it is stuff that the president would likely appreciate.
But this is not new for the country singer.
Andrews is consistent, and if his name looks familiar it might be because of his rising star in music, and it also might be because of the rant that he went on about MAGA late last year that made its way into headlines.
Andrews took to TikTok to “crash out” over Trump and MAGA while delivering the message that, in his opinion, the movement is not rooted in Christianity.
“You don’t get to call yourself a Christian and then advocate and (expletive) laugh when families are torn apart outside of courthouses, when people (are) trying to come here the right ways,” he said in a video.
“You don’t get to call yourself a Christian and then think it’s OK that the highest court in the (expletive) land just gave a green light to ICE agents to be able to (expletive) target people because they are brown or speaking Spanish.”
The singer said it makes him “sick” to be lumped in with MAGA supporters who claim to be Christians.
“You are not Christian,” he said. “You use Christianity as a shield to hide behind when you need to justify the hate that you have scolded into this world.”
Flash forward to this week and Andrews is taking on fellow country singers for openly supporting the Trump administration.
“May not get invited to anymore fish fry’s but at least they’ll know that REAL country music songs a whole lot more like this song than that ‘Obey or Die’ mindset these bootlickin’ country artists be tryna push these days,” he wrote.
Andrews was listening to one of his new songs which he has shared with fans on the platform as “Anti-fascist country.”
Andrews has his supporters in the message.
“Now you can throw your own fish fry and you know that your kindred spirits will show up!” one person replied. “Keep singing truth to power brother!”
“There’s nothing wrong with being on the right side of humanity!” another wrote. “Keep shouting your messages! We love you.”
“Unrelenting soldier!” another wrote. “You are awesome! Johnny Cash would be a fan!”
