More than 320 flight cancellations Saturday at Nashville International Airport

Flights at Nashville International Airport (BNA) felt the impact of the winter storm on Saturday.

On Saturday morning, more than 70 flights had been cancelled at BNA by 9:30 a.m., according to BNA’s flights page.

Of those cancellations, 40 were inbound flights arriving in Nashville, and 31 were outbound departures.

By Saturday evening at 6:10 p.m., 327 flights have been cancelled throughout the day so far, according to FlightAware.

Of these cancellations, 179 were inbound flights arriving in Nashville, and 148 were outbound departures.

Officials with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) said crews are preparing airfield operations for winter conditions, including treating runways and paved surfaces with ice melt and de-icing products to help maintain safe operations.

Airport officials emphasized that airlines are responsible for de-icing their own aircraft and conducting all aircraft de-icing operations.

They also noted that airlines manage several key components of flight operations, including aircraft scheduling, aircraft movement to and from gates, de-icing aircraft, and ensuring safe boarding and deplaning for passengers.

Travellers are encouraged to check the status of their flights directly with their airlines before heading to the airport.
