Celtic pick up where they left off under O’Neill – Trusty

Celtic played for 56 minutes a man down but were resolute throughout as they prevented the Italians from pinching all three points in a nail-biting final quarter at a noisy Renato Dall’Ara.
“Obviously going down to 10 men with the majority of the game to go, it’s not ideal,” Trusty said.
“You have to hunker down and weather the storm, which we did for the majority of the game. They came back, but we still got a point.
“I’m just focused on getting that performance level every single week. The games in the league, we aren’t really put under pressure in that fashion.
“A lot of teams can fold and cave and call it quits, but that’s not the mentality that we have and that’s not the mentality we’re allowed to have.”
Trusty revealed that midfielder Hatate apologised for his sending off that led to one-way traffic towards the Celtic goal thereafter.
“Yeah, he’s said sorry, but at the same time, I’ve gotten red cards, everyone here has probably gotten red cards,” he said.
“Things happen, it’s football, we move on, you have your team-mates back. I don’t think any of us blame him for it, we have his back.
“Obviously you don’t mean to get a red card, but we just move on in the game.
“The timing of my goal was very, very good and to go into the second half up 2-0.
“I looked at the ref and thought something had happened, someone’s offside, so I didn’t really get the full celebration.
“But to score my goal and my first European goal, it’s amazing. That’s what I want to do, I want to score more goals and celebrate with the fans.”
