Shocking Josh Allen connection revealed who has an edge in Bills’ HC search

Since the start of their head coaching search, the Buffalo Bills have officially interviewed six candidates as of today: Joe Brady, Brian Daboll, Lou Anarumo, Philip Rivers, Anthony Weaver, and Anthony Lynn. The Bills are scheduled to interview Jaguars’ OC Grant Udinski on Sunday.

Albert Breer reported that the Bills were set to talk with Mike McDaniel as well, but then he pulled out of the scheduled meeting, per Dianna Russini. However, fans shouldn’t worry about that move at all. It wouldn’t have been a good fit, and the Bills need someone who is a great leader, not just a great offensive playcaller.

So far, the biggest shock of this search is when Adam Schefter reported that Philip Rivers would be interviewing for the position. It came out of nowhere and it was not expected at all, yet here we are looking at a potential setup for the Bills that includes Rivers as a potential head coach.

Rivers, who has never coached at the college level or the NFL, may have an upper edge on this search considering what Dianna Russini has reported. According to Russini, Rivers, Josh Allen, and Broncos’ offensive pass game coordinator Davis Webb all have the same agent.

As the Bills continue to comb through their head coaching candidates and interviews, keep in mind Josh Allen, Philip Rivers, and Davis Webb all share the same agent.

Josh Allen connection may have just shown ultimate advantage Philip Rivers has

It is extremely important to keep this in mind as the Bills continue their head coaching search. Connections are always something great to have. Knowing now that Rivers has the same agent as Allen, could very much play a factor in this search.

As for Webb, he knows Allen and Buffalo very well. He was backup for Allen at one point in his career and has since then earned a lot of respect at the coaching level. Buffalo has not been able to request to speak with Webb as he is still in the playoffs atleast until tomorrow as part of the Broncos.

All of this tying together just made the Bills’ search for their next head coach more interesting.
