Broncos coach Payton, Patriots receiver Boutte exchange trash talk

Bad blood is burgeoning ahead of the AFC Championship Game.
The Broncos are in the midst of preparing for Sunday’s duel against the New England Patriots, and Denver’s head coach Sean Payton was unabashed about his confidence in the upcoming result on Wednesday.
When asked about Broncos fans making noise for their team at Mile High Field, Payton’s message to the fans was that “they’ll have plenty of time to rest after (Sunday). Two weeks.”
Denver’s coach all but guaranteed a win for his squad. One Patriot took exception.
After a reporter informed him about Payton’s insinuation on Thursday, New England receiver Kayshon Boutte posed a different outcome.
“I mean, they can rest in Cancun too, at the end of the day,” said Boutte, who had 75 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ divisional win over the Houston Texans.
The Broncos are looking to make their first Super Bowl appearance since 2016, when they beat the Carolina Panthers. The Patriots last made the Super Bowl in 2019, defeating the Los Angeles Rams.
