Puka Nacua is unquestionably one of the NFL’s best receivers. He’s an electric playmaker who is the bedrock of the Los Angeles Rams’ offense as they try to beat the Seattle Seahawks in Sunday’s NFC title game. (Note: He also unquestionably has a distinct lack of critical thinking when it comes to echoing antisemitic gestures.)
But for as good a pass-catcher as Nacua is, he’s clearly not much of a sartorialist who understands the nuances of quality fashion.
Because if he were, Nacua wouldn’t have chosen to wear a hideously bright blueberry suit with distracting brown shoes for his pregame fit on Sunday. I’m only making assumptions, but this is probably not a young man who should be making clothing decisions by himself at this point in time.
We need to reevaluate some decisions here:
I’m all for athletes showing some flair with their fashion choices while expressing themselves. But man, this Nacua outfit looks neither good nor particularly flashy or expressive of his personality. It’s plain-old tacky. That’s it.
NFL fans seemed to agree as they ruthlessly made fun of Nacua:
Uh, yeah, better luck next time with your clothing choices, Puka. Be it in Super Bowl 60 or next season.
