Coronation Street’s Sam Blakeman targeted by new villain tonight

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (26 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street‘s Sam Blakeman makes a new enemy tonight after voicing his suspicions over Will Driscoll and Megan Walsh’s inappropriate relationship. Is Megan about to start making Sam’s life a misery?
A big new storyline for Sam began last week, as he overheard teenage athlete Lee confiding in Will about his own sexual encounters with groomer Megan. Will dismissed Lee’s claims, but the damage was done when Sam caught the tail end of the conversation.
In follow-up scenes tonight, Sam’s suspicions grow when Leanne Battersby finds a boy’s tracksuit top in the flat she now shares with Megan.
Megan claims that it belongs to her boyfriend Daniel Osbourne, but Sam later spots Will with it and puts two and two together.

Determined to do the right thing, Sam offers to support Will by reporting Megan for what she’s doing.
Still unable to see the disturbing reality behind Megan’s behaviour, Will protects her by denying everything. Sensing his friend’s fear, Sam isn’t convinced.
Later, when word gets back to Megan, she’s quick to seize an opportunity to confront Sam at Speed Daal. Abusing her position of power at the school, Megan makes a veiled threat to secure his silence…
“I’m his coach – I’ve known him for years, so we had a laugh about it,” Megan tells Sam, explaining how she and Will have been talking about his suspicions.

“But if anyone really thought there was something going on, then it wouldn’t be very funny, would it? Do you understand?”
When Sam reluctantly agrees, Megan replies: “A* for Blakeman…”
Coronation Street‘s producer Kate Brooks previously named the Megan and Sam dynamic as one to watch out for in the coming months.
“[Sam] potentially gets wind that something’s amiss,” Brooks explained.
“We will see the lengths that Megan will go to in order to manipulate Sam and to keep him quiet, and it will be massively detrimental to Sam’s wellbeing.”
Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
