4. An Action-Packed Women’s Tag

Given the four wrestlers in the Women’s Tag Team
Championship match, there really shouldn’t have been much doubt that the bout had
a pretty high floor.

Rhiyo and the Judgment Day finally collided Saturday night,
with the smaller duo of Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez trying (unsuccessfully) to
keep Rhea Ripley out of the match. When Rhea and Liv finally squared off, it didn’t
go well for Morgan or Perez. They finally got control with a hurricanrana/diving Codebreaker
combo, but that didn’t last long.

Both teams had numerous near-falls and saves throughout the
match, though there was a notable blemish when Perez hit Pop-Rox on Iyo Sky, and
Ripley was late with the save, causing the referee to act as though Iyo had squirmed
her shoulder off the mat.

The tag champs looked to have things won after a Riptide and
Over-the-Moonsault, but Raquel Rodriguez appeared and tripped Ripley, dropping
her right onto the referee to stop the count. Stephanie Vaquer (sans walking
boot) made the save and redeemed herself after a couple of embarrassing beatdowns,
chasing Rodriguez off and evening the odds.

From there, Rhea grabbed a blind tag as Morgan went for Oblivion
on Iyo, and the Eradicator quickly vanquished Liv with a Riptide.

Botched pinfall save aside, this was solid stuff from all
four wrestlers, with Liv taking the loss after being the vocal one about
bringing gold back to the clubhouse, and Rhea and Iyo looking invincible. What could
possibly stop them? (**Looks ominously at the “everyone for themselves” Royal
Rumble next weekend.**) Throw in Stephanie Vaquer getting some revenge on Raquel Rodriguez, and
this was a pretty good evening for the Raw women’s division.
