By the Office of Communication

All Arlington Public Library locations and recreation centers will open at normal business hours and will continue serving as warming centers for residents in need on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

However, many other City of Arlington facilities will have a delayed opening until noon to allow time for icy road conditions to improve as temperatures climb above freezing.  These locations are: City Hall, City Tower, the Municipal Court, Arlington Animal Services and Water Utilities South Service Center.

Other City Service Updates

Brush/Bulky Waste and Recycling Collection Suspended

Due to continued hazardous winter conditions, Republic Services has had to make additional changes to this week’s solid waste collection schedule. Although some streets show signs of clearing, many areas remain icy and unsafe for heavy collection trucks to access streets and curbs. Our priority is the safety of both residents and drivers, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through these weather-related challenges.

Landfill

The landfill will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Handitran will run from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Arlington Tennis Center, Public Golf Courses and Restaurants

The Arlington Tennis Center will reopen once the ice has thawed from the courts.

All four Arlington public golf courses, and the Home Plate Restaurant and Ventana Grille, are expected to reopen to the public Monday, Feb. 2. The greens will remain covered during freezing temperatures.

Municipal Court

All court dockets scheduled for Wednesday morning will be rescheduled. The Municipal Court is set to open at noon. Court dockets scheduled for Wednesday afternoon will continue as planned.
