New video shows Alex Pretti appear to spit on, break tail light of federal agent’s vehicle

(WLUK) — A new video published on social media Wednesday purports to show Alex Pretti kicking and breaking the tail light of and spitting on a federal law enforcement vehicle in Minneapolis.
It allegedly happened Jan. 13 — just 11 days before the Green Bay-raised Pretti was shot and killed by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents in an anti-immigration enforcement protest.
A representative for Pretti’s family confirmed to CNN the man in the video is Pretti.
CNN reported Wednesday that Pretti suffered a broken rib during an encounter with federal agents about a week before his death.
In the video posted to X, you can see an agent grab Pretti after he kicked the tail light. The two struggle before Pretti is pushed to the ground. A few agents can be seen holding Pretti down for about 20 seconds before they retreat and Pretti walks away.
“A week before Alex was gunned down in the street — despite posing no threat to anyone — he was violently assaulted by a group of ICE agents,” Steve Schleicher, an attorney for the Pretti family, told Fox News. “Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex’s killing at the hands of ICE on Jan 24.”
The video also appears to show Pretti with a gun in his waistband. He was a concealed carry permitholder who was armed while attending the protest at which he died, although footage shows agents disarmed Pretti shortly before he was shot.

FOX 11 emailed the Department of Homeland Security and asked if it has documentation to support the claim that the video shows Pretti on Jan. 13. A spokesperson told us Homeland Security Investigations is reviewing the video.
