Eagles hiring Packers QB coach Sean Mannion as new offensive coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles have found their new leader on offence.
Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion is set to be the Eagles’ next offensive coordinator, the team announced on Thursday.
Mannion has only coached in the NFL for two seasons after wrapping up a six-year career as a player. He was originally selected by the then-St. Louis Rams in the third round of the 2015 draft and spent four years with the franchise before spending two years with the Minnesota Vikings.
He made 14 starts in the pros as a QB, including three starts (0-3-0) and threw 573 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in that span.
The 33-year-old first joined the Packers as an offensive assistant in 2024 and was then promoted to QB coach in 2025. Now he’ll continue his quick rise through the coaching ranks as he replaces Kevin Patullo, who parted ways with the Eagles after just one season as OC.
Philadelphia finished 2025 with an 11-6-0 record but missed out on the playoffs for the first time since 2020 — in stark contrast to winning the Super Bowl just last year. The Eagles’ 22.3 points per game ranked 19th in the NFL.
