Stars to host Golden Knights outdoors at Cowboys stadium

The NHL is heading to the Lone Star State for its next Stadium Series game.
The Dallas Stars will host the Vegas Golden Knights at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in an outdoor game next season. The game in Dallas had previously been announced, but the NHL confirmed Thursday that the Golden Knights will be the opponent.
The game will take place on Feb. 20, 2027 and will be the second outdoor game played in Texas, after the Stars hosted the Nashville Predators at the Cotton Bowl in 2020.
The Stars and Golden Knights have been two of the top contenders in the Western Conference over the last few seasons. The Stars have reached the Western Conference Final in each of the last three seasons and played in the 2020 Stanley Cup Final. The Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup in 2023 and have made the playoffs in seven of their eight seasons since entering the league.
The matchup will be the third outdoor game on the calendar next season. The Winnipeg Jets host the Montreal Canadiens in a Heritage Classic game on Oct. 25 at Princess Auto Stadium, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Then, the Utah Mammoth will host the Colorado Avalanche at Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah in the Winter Classic in early January.
The next Stadium Series game will take place this Sunday when the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Boston Bruins at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
