Inter Milan in direct talks with Liverpool for Curtis Jones

Liverpool have just a few days left to complete any transfer business before the window closes on Monday. It remains unclear whether Arne Slot’s side will move for reinforcements, though speculation about potential signings continues.

In terms of outgoing, Liverpool defender Luke Chambers joined Charlton Athletic on loan, James Norris left permanently for Shelbourne, and forward Lewis Koumas has moved to Hull City on loan for the rest of the 2025-26 season.

Curtis Jones is attracting interest from several clubs, including Tottenham. Despite his young age, Jones has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and was a Champions League runner-up, in addition to lifting the Under-21 Euros with England in 2023.

This season, he has started just 10 of Liverpool’s 23 Premier League games and four of their seven Champions League fixtures, missing only two matches due to injury. We exclusively revealed that Tottenham could make a move for Jones in the January transfer window.

Jones’ departure could open the door for Liverpool target Adam Wharton who we also revealed exclusively that the Crystal Palace defensive midfielder remains on the club’s summer transfer radar.

Jones is a Liverpool homegrown player who came through the club’s academy. Selling him would generate a profit. It is believed Tottenham would be willing to initially offer £30m as an opening offer, but Liverpool are likely to seek more.

The Liverpool midfielder has now emerged as a target for Inter Milan. The Serie A leaders are in direct negotiations with Liverpool over a potential loan deal for Curtis Jones, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano posted on X: “Inter are in direct club to club talks with Liverpool for Curtis Jones on loan deal with buy option clause. Negotiations ongoing but linked to Davide Frattesi exit with #NFFC waiting for an answer. Inter and Liverpool, discussing today.”
