Nkunku leaving AC Milan?

As per MilanNews, AS Roma are interested in AC Milan attacker Christopher Nkunku, with Atletico Madrid also reportedly keen.

While Nkunku, who only signed from Chelsea last summer, is said to be unsure about the prospect of leaving the club, the Milan hierarchy are allegedly keen on selling the Frenchman to make way for the impending arrival of Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace.

MilanNews claims: “There’s no shortage of contenders for Christopher Nkunku, whom AC Milan are keen to sell in the final days of the transfer window to make room for Jean-Philippe Mateta: Fenerbahce, Roma, and Atletico Madrid have all set their sights on the Rossoneri striker, but the club is currently holding off on his departure.

“The latest news is that the former Chelsea player’s possible stay might not preclude the arrival of Mateta, the Crystal Palace striker whom AC Milan have blocked for the summer and are already trying to bring to Milanello.”

Goretzka announced Bayern departure

Leon Goretzka has announced that he is set to leave Bayern Munich when his contract expires at the end of the season after turning down the chance to depart in January.

The Germany international, who joined Bayern in 2018 and was part of the team that won the Champions League in 2020, said on Instagram: “As much as I’m honoured by the interest from top international clubs, I’ve made a clear decision that I want to stay with FC Bayern until the end of the season.

“With a team that’s incredibly fun to be around, both on and off the pitch, and a coach who has molded our squad back into a true unit! I feel a deep commitment to this team and the club. Our shared goal is to be back at Marienplatz in May, celebrating the biggest titles together with YOU!

“At the same time, the club and I have decided, after good and constructive discussions, that our successful time together will come to an end this summer. As I’ve said before, it’s also the right time for me to start a new chapter: as a footballer and as a person.”

Upamecano decision on horizon

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund has spoken out about the future of Dayot Upamecano amid claims the club is demanding the centre-back puts pen to paper on a new deal by a certain deadline.

“There will be a decision in the near future, that will be the case. But I won’t talk about any deadlines now.”
