Conde Cavaliers kick off Mobile Mardi Gras 2026

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mardi Gras 2026 has officially started in downtown Mobile.
Dozens of people braced bone-chilling temperatures to watch the Conde Cavaliers roll through the streets and catch some treats.
Mobile Police reported more than 67,00 attended the parade.
“Probably just the whole boxes of light cakes and stuff,” said Ladarien Baker-Nash.
DJ Cobb told FOX10 News he likes to catch everything.
For most, these parades are a familiar sight, but for others, this is something new.
“This will be our first time coming out here to the parade, so we’re hoping to have a lot of fun,” said Athena Brooks.
With this year’s theme “Wild Wild West,” one member of this nearly 50-year-old organization said it’s great to see all of their prep come to fruition.
“We’re happy to be able to kick off Mardi Gras from Mobile. We love being able to get out here for the kids and the families,” a Conde Cavalier said.
With the first Mobile parade of 2026 in the books, everyone is ready to keep letting the good times roll, counting down the days until Fat Tuesday.
