Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, 86, might be facing legal charges for a hit-and-run. The New York Times reported that on Friday, Pelosi was driving his convertible in Napa County, California, when he struck a parked car and then left the scene. According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the incident, no one was in the car that was hit and nobody was injured, but it was left with major damages. Additionally, the sheriff’s office said there was no alcohol in Pelosi’s system according to a breathalyzer test, and he was not arrested.
Now, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office will decide whether to file misdemeanor charges against Pelosi. And, because of his age, the sheriff’s office has requested the DMV perform an evaluation of his ability to drive. Pelosi has been in car crashes before. In 2022, he was sentenced to five days in jail and three years probation after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. That same year, Pelosi was attacked in his San Francisco home by an intruder, who hit him over the head with a hammer. We’re glad this incident resulted in no injuries.
