Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor and Emmy winner Niecy Nash-Betts headline a new Jordan Brand campaign set to debut Sunday night during the 2026 Grammy Awards, alongside a group of WNBA stars led by Napheesa Collier.
The campaign, titled Generational Greatness, premieres Sunday with a brand anthem airing during the Grammy broadcast. The effort puts a contemporary spin on a 1991 Jordan Brand commercial that starred Michael Jordan and filmmaker Spike Lee, with the late Little Richard appearing in the role of a genie granting Lee’s wishes.
In the updated version, Nash plays the genie, while Taylor appears as part of a cast that blends athletes and entertainers. The spot follows a woman attempting to decide which wish she wants granted, with appearances from several WNBA players woven into that storyline.
Those athletes include Collier, a Minnesota Lynx forward and one of the league’s most decorated players, as well as Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream, Gabby Williams of the Seattle Storm and Isabelle Harrison of the New York Liberty.
Taylor, whose career spans music, film, fashion and directing, is currently Oscar nominated (results TBD) and a Golden Globe winner for her work in One Battle After Another. Nash has also seen a high-profile period marked by major awards recognition and a growing slate of film and television projects.
The hero shoe featured in the ad is the Air Jordan 6 Infrared “Salesman,” which will be released for the first time in spring 2026. The shoe is based on an unreleased sample from 1999 that appeared briefly in a seasonal catalog before being pulled from production.
Jordan Brand says the campaign is intended to connect past and present generations of cultural influence while spotlighting women whose careers span multiple arenas.
The 2026 Grammy Awards take place Sunday, Feb. 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will air at 8 p.m. ET. The 2026 WNBA season is scheduled to begin May 8.
