Lindsey Vonn plans to ski at Olympics despite torn ACL

MILAN — Lindsey Vonn’s improbable Alpine skiing comeback has taken on another degree of difficulty.
Just days before the Milan Cortina Olympics, Vonn said she tore the ACL in her left knee in a crash last week in Switzerland but still plans to compete in Sunday’s downhill race. The injury occurred one week before the Opening Ceremonies, threatening to derail what had been shaping up as one of the Games’ most compelling storylines.
