During every trade saga in the NBA, there is inevitably a cryptic post on social media from the player who might be dealt that draws a “What do you mean by that?” response from NBA fans and reporters alike.
On Tuesday, Giannis Antetokounmpo became the newest member of the cryptic club:
On Monday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Milwaukee Bucks have “submitted counteroffers” in trade talks with Giannis suitors and have “shifted to actively engaging with a few teams concerning a potential league-altering trade,” with the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks listed as the “most active” teams in those talks.
So a Giannis trade feels inevitable at some point, though it remains to be seen if it will go down before Thursday’s deadline. But you can at least check “cryptic post” off your trade saga bingo board.
