Former Alabama basketball star on move at NBA trade deadline

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, former Alabama Crimson Tide guard Collin Sexton has been traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Chicago Bulls as part of a multi-player deal.

Sexton becomes the second former Alabama player to be moved prior to the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, with the star guard joining Keon Ellis.

A former first round pick from the 2018 draft out of Alabama, Sexton is currently in his eighth NBA season, as well as his first in Charlotte. This season, Sexton had started 12-of-42 games played with the Hornets, averaging 14.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game on 48.8% shooting from the field, as well as 39.3% from three and 87.7% at the free throw line.

The former Alabama standout now joins a Bulls team that currently sits tenth in the Eastern Conference at 24-27 overall. Sexton will also be the lone former Alabama player on the Bulls roster, with Chicago now the fourth NBA team in the former Crimson Tide star’s career.
