The Anaconda Vice, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Judo compression choke, is performed on a mat with opponents facing each other. In Adam’s case, Gronkowski was seated on a sofa, which could have caused confusion. The wrestler usually sits on one side of the opponent and uses their near arm to encircle the opponent’s neck in a headlock. Adams could not sit on the side of the New England Patriots tight end because of the sofa arm, which pushed her body farther to the side away from him. The wrestler then tries to grab the opponent’s near wrist by bending the arm upward [toward the opponent’s face]. In Adams’ case, this was not visible in the video because her back faced the camera, and she had completely covered Gronkowski’s face. Next, the wrestler inserts his hand through the hole created by the opponent’s bent arm and his own other arm, which is holding the bent arm.
