Former Lonsdale director joins SES in growth drive

The specialist has appointed former Michael J Lonsdale board director Mark Heath as pre-construction director, bringing more than 30 years of top-tier MEP estimating and bid leadership into its southern business.

Heath, who held senior roles at Lonsdale including estimating director and board director, has also worked at Phoenix ME and is widely regarded as one of the sector’s most experienced pre-construction operators.

At SES he will take charge of southern tendering, estimating and early client engagement as the firm lines up its next wave of major work.

The move is part of a broader leadership investment, with Heath joining the Engineering South board alongside newly-promoted commercial director Luke Boyhan.

Together, the appointments underline SES’ ambition to push turnover beyond £500m and deepen its presence in commercial development, fit out and life sciences.

Boyhan steps up from regional commercial director after joining the business in 2021 and will oversee commercial performance across the South, supporting sustainable growth and long-term client relationships.

The senior hires come as SES’ southern operation gathers pace, with the contractor currently delivering three major commercial schemes for Mace in London. While work stretches west to Bristol, the capital remains the firm’s engine room, with further investment planned to support an expanding pipeline.
