Brisbane 2032 outlines delivery momentum, commercial progress and announces LA28 “Australia House” at IOC Session

Reporting to the 145th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session, President Andrew Liveris and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cindy Hook also confirmed that Brisbane 2032’s inaugural commercial partner — one of Australia’s largest companies — will be announced in the second quarter of this year.
Speaking about the progress, Liveris, said: “The Queensland Government’s 2032 Delivery Plan is confirmed and venues are underway, procurement opportunities are open, our Games Vision has been announced, we’ve had significant interest from sports wanting to be part of our Games, and our streamlined Board and recently appointed Advisory Groups are leading our transition from planning phase to implementation and delivery.”
On the Queensland Government’s 2032 Delivery Plan, Liveris explained that community confidence was clear: “I’m pleased to say that since the Delivery Plan announcement, communities across Queensland and beyond have resoundingly backed the plan and the generational economic and social benefits it will deliver.”
Today’s update also highlighted significant progress on procurement, with CEO Cindy Hook confirming strong early market engagement following the launch of Brisbane 2032’s Procurement and Supplier Portal. She said: “Since our launch, more than 500 businesses have registered their interest against more than 65 work packages that we have open.”
In addition, Brisbane 2032 outlined continued development of the Sport Programme for the Games, with regular engagement now under way with the IOC and International Federations, supported by extensive data analysis across more than 35 sports. The Organising Committee reiterated its commitment to delivering a programme that is engaging, sustainable and both commercially and operationally viable.
Looking ahead, Brisbane 2032 confirmed a series of milestones during 2026, including development of the Venue Master Plan and Sport Programme, additional commercial and procurement announcements, confirmation of their sustainability strategy, the unveiling of the Games emblems, and expanded community engagement activities as preparations build toward the six-years-to-go milestone.
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games will take place from 23 July to 8 August 2032, followed by the Paralympic Games from 24 August to 5 September 2032.
