Team USA captain Hilary Knight already set a record when she suited up in the opening game of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
She became the first hockey player – woman or man – to play in five Winter Olympics, although that mark will be tied when the men’s tournament begins.
Knight also pulled closer to a U.S. Olympics women’s hockey record when she scored in the 5-1 victory against Czechia on Thursday, Feb. 5.
That gave Knight her 13th career Olympic goal. She is one goal shy of the U.S. record jointly held by Natalie Darwitz and Katie King. Knight can tie or break the record on Saturday, Feb. 7, when the USA faces Finland at Rho Ice Hockey Arena in Milan (10:40 a.m., USA Network, NBCOlympics.com, Peacock).

Milano Cortina is Hilary Knight’s fifth Olympic appearance. She also played in Vancouver (2010), Sochi (2014), Pyeongchang (2018) and Beijing (2022). Roman Cervenka, who played in each of those Olympics, will tie her mark when the Czech men’s hockey team begins play on Feb. 12.
