Layla Taylor has broken up with her boyfriend, Mason McWhorter.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 24, confirmed in an emotional TikTok video that she and Mason — who first teased their relationship in July 2025 — had split, following speculation from fans.
“I feel like it’s kind of obvious,” the mom of two shared in the video. “I think everyone’s already noticed, and there’s pages already making videos about it, so I just wanted to hop on here to kind of set the record straight on something.”
“Obviously, me and Mason are no longer together,” she said, speaking through tears. “It’s still super fresh.”
The reality star added that she wanted to dispel rumors about their split and shared that there was “no bad blood” between herself and Mason, who is the former brother-in-law of her costar Miranda McWhorter.
“I genuinely want and wish nothing but the best for Mason,” Layla said.

“Things just weren’t working out,” she continued of the relationship. “I think we were just on two different paths right now, and he felt in order for him to grow, he had to be on his own. And I respect his decision, and I truly hope that he gets what he wants in life.”
Layla also explained the difficulties of their breakup, as her relationship with Mason was her first one after her divorce from ex-husband Clayton Wessell.

“Mason was a really big part of me and my boys’ lives for the past almost year,” she shared, adding that her sons were both having trouble dealing with the breakup. “We went through a lot in this last year, to be honest. But I’m grateful for everything, and I’m grateful he was a part of my life for how long he was.”
“I just really thought that I was gonna get the family that I wanted so badly,” she continued, before asking Mormon Wives fans to be “nice and kind” to Mason amid their split.
“I still love him so much,” she added. “And I only want the best for him.”
Chase McWhorter, Mason’s brother and the ex-husband of Miranda McWhorter, shared his support in the comments of the video, writing, “Love u so much! This sucks! But u and mase both are the best.”
Several of Layla’s Mormon Wives costars also commented, including Jessi Draper, who wrote, “Love you so much,” and Mikayla Matthews, who said, “Love you babe.”
“love you to the moon lay. here for you always bb,” Miranda added, as Taylor Frankie Paul commented, “We’re here for you my girl.”
Layla first teased her relationship with Mason on July 15, 2025, sharing an Instagram post that included a photo of the pair with their arms around each other.
“Had to make you guys search for it a little,” she joked about the photo.
Layla and her ex-husband Wessell finalized their divorce last year. The pair share two kids, Oliver “Ollie” Clay, born in 2021, and Maxwell Dean, born in 2022.
In a conversation with PEOPLE last year, Layla opened up about her dating life, explaining that it’s “a lot more challenging” dating as a single mom.
“Because I’m not just dating for myself. I am dating to potentially find somebody that would be a stepfather to my children, so it’s super important to find the perfect guy,” she explained, adding that she’s been “very picky, as I should be.”
She also said it’s important that she has a partner who is “okay with having a co-parenting dynamic be at the forefront.”
