In an announcement from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) it said there is “the potential presence of hard white plastic”.
The brioches are a firm favourite with youngsters in the mornings and are sold widely in Tesco and Asda supermarkets as well as Ocado.
It is not clear how the plastic ended up in the brioches.
The FSA warned that the plastic pieces had made the product “unsafe to eat”.

Only Pitch Chocolate filled 225g (6×37.5g) packs with the batch code UK 034 are under the recall.
Those who have purchased the item are advised not to eat them and to contact the producer’s customer care team via their website or by sending an email to [email protected].
Brioche Pasquier said no other batch code, nor any of its other products, had been affected.
The recall comes just days after more batches of baby formulas have been recalled over a dangerous toxin that left 36 children ill.
Danone, the food group that owns Aptamil and Cow & Gate, have recalled 15 of its products.
The FSA said they have found possible presence of a toxin linked to the poisoning of children in several of Aptamil and Cow & Gate’s products.
The recall was issued over potential cereulide contamination, which can cause severe vomiting and diarrhoea.
Several products believe to contain traces of cereulide, a toxin that is unlikely to be deactivated or destroyed by cooking or using boiling water when preparing the formula.
And last month, Nestle recalled more than 60 batches of it’s SMA formula milk that contained toxin cereulide – which can cause severe vomiting and diarrhoea.
At least 36 children have fallen ill since consuming contaminated batches, with the UKHSA launching a probe.
Parents are advised to check batch codes carefully and avoid feeding affected products to their children.
