Vehicle strikes pedestrian on Cole County Route Y

A 39-year-old man from Gravois Mills was seriously injured Friday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on Route Y in Cole County, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened when a sedan driving eastbound on Route Y failed to yield to a stationary vehicle that was stopped in the roadway near Helias Drive, according to the crash report.

The vehicle, driven by a 21-year-old man from Jefferson City, crossed the center line and hit the pedestrian, according to the crash report. 

The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital by Cole County emergency medical services, according to the crash report.

The driver was not injured, according to the crash report.
