Police are searching for two suspects after a 24-year-old man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Burlington mall on Monday night.
According to investigators, the man was gunned down shortly after 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Burlington Centre Mall on Guelph Line, near Fairview Street.
Police said the victim died on the way to hospital.
Investigators are searching for two suspects who fled the scene in a white SUV.
“We are going to be asking for anybody that might have security video, anybody that might have dash cam video from the area of the parking lot, the surrounding streets… Contact our major crime investigators,” Const. Jeff Dillon told reporters at the scene on Tuesday morning.
Police were unable to comment on a possible motive for the shooting.
“We do believe hat this was targeted incident. We don’t believe there is any known risk to public safety,” Dillon said.
No other injuries were reported.
“Unfortunately one young man lost his life but when you are in a wide open parking lot like this and you have a gun being fired, obviously quote lucky that nobody else was struck,” he said.
