Duke basketball center Patrick Ngongba II questionable vs Pitt

Duke basketball starting center Patrick Ngongba II is listed as questionable ahead of the Blue Devils’ road game at Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The 6-foot-11 sophomore popped up on the initial injury report on Monday night. It comes after he fouled out in Duke’s 71-68 loss on the road at UNC on Feb. 7, where a a Seth Trimble’s go-ahead 3-pointer gave the Tar Heels their first and only lead of the night against Duke with 0.4 seconds remaining.
Ngongba II played 16 minutes against the Tar Heels and scored four points, tied for a season-low.
“Clearly we’re a different team if Pat is not out there at all,” Scheyer said following the loss to the Tar Heels.
Ngongba II has started in 22 of 23 of the No. 4/6 Blue Devils (21-2, 10-1) games this season. He is averaging 10.2 points per game, good for third on the team, with 6.2 rebounds and two assists per game.
Ifeanyi Ufochukwu is the only other Blue Devil listed on the report, as expected for Duke. Scheyer said on Jan. 12 that he is out for the remainder of the season with a non-contact knee injury he suffered during practice.
Duke is set to tipoff against Pitt and former Blue Devil Jeff Capel III at 9 p.m. on ESPN from the Petersen Event Center in Pittsburgh.
