Nanaimo RCMP investigating missing man incident

The Nanaimo RCMP is investigating a missing person report that involves an adult male who left his residence Monday, Feb. 9, and has not been seen since.
After the man was reported missing, police checked several locations he was known to frequent and asked partner agencies to be on the lookout for his vehicle.
The man’s vehicle was found that night aboard a B.C. Ferry at the B.C. Ferries’ Tsawwassen Terminal.
A review of the ship’s security video showed a person matching the missing individual’s description enter the water while the vessel was underway and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and RCMP West Coast Marine Services, launched a search of the surrounding area.
Nanaimo RCMP has conduct of the investigation and is currently coordinating with B.C. Ferries, Delta Police Department, JRCC, Gabriola RCMP, and RCMP West Coast Marine Services.
Family members have been advised of the developments and the search is ongoing.
