3rd over – Evans replaces Raza in the Zimbabwe attack
Sikandar Raza hooks himself and brings Brad Evans into the attack here. Seam from both ends.
Evans around the wicket and angles one into Head to start with, good delivery, it’s a dot ball.
FOUR! Misfield! Head with an agricultural slog down the ground and it’s one that goes straight through the man at mid-off, that’s the skipper too. He’s had a horror start so far.
Evans again cramps Head up for room and it’s another dot ball. Good bowling.
Straight again and Head works it into the leg side for a single.
Zimbabwe’s two quicks are looking good so far. Green on strike now, what can he do?

2nd over cont – Cam Green strides to the wicket
What a start for Blessing Muzarabani. He’s going to be the key man for Zimbabwe here.
Cam Green is the new man here. A noted nervous starter.
There’s a muted LBW appeal as Green is struck on the pad with his first delivery, but this one was sliding down leg. Green calls Head through for a quick single.
A good slower delivery from Muzarabani and Head watchfully defends it down the pitch. This has been a terrific over from the big right-arm paceman.
FOUR! It’s a short delivery and Head pulls it through midwicket with one leg up like a West Indies opener from the 80s and picks up a boundary. He didn’t quite time it, but did enough to pick up four.
Ends by late cutting one down to deep third man for a single, but an excellent over for Zimbabwe with just five coming off it.

CAUGHT! Muzarabani removes Inglis!
WHAT A START FOR ZIMBABWE!
Muzarabani goes short with his first delivery and Josh Inglis pulls it straight to the man at deep backward square leg, who takes an excellent diving catch.
Josh Inglis c Musekiwa b Muzarabani 8 (4), FOW: 1-13

2nd over – Muzarabani to share the new ball

1st over – Inglis takes Raza downtown to start run chase
Josh Inglis out there with Travis Head as Australia’s innings gets underway.
Inglis will take the first ball as well, which is interesting.
Sikandar Raza taking the first over himself. The last time he did that in an international was in 2023. A bit of a feast or famine move from the skipper.
Starts with a full delivery that Inglis works through the leg side for a single.
Head looms as the big wicket here for Zimbabwe. They need to get him early if they want to win this.
FOUR! Classic Travis Head that! Not a bad delivery, but it’s slapped through the off side for a boundary. Australia off and running.
Gets a little straighter and Head drives Raza down to deep mid off for a single.
SIX! Inglis takes him downtown with a wonderful slog sweep! It’s into the breeze and there’s a man out there on the midwicket boundary, but he gets enough on it.
Inglis works the next one into the leg side for another single. Already 13 off this over for Australia.
The final ball is a poor one, but a terrific diving stop at backward square leg saves a boundary.

Zimbabwe sets Australia a total of 170 to win
Opener Brian Bennett top scored with an unbeaten 64 as Zimbabwe set Australia a competitive total. (Getty Images)
Fascinating run chase coming up here for Australia!
Zimbabwe batted very well to post a score of 2-169, but I wonder with all those wickets in hand whether they could have chanced their arm a little more.
Brian Bennett finishes unbeaten on 64 off 56 deliveries, and he’s probably the main culprit who should’ve kicked on a little more you’d think.
Sikandar Raza played a handy little cameo there at the end, finishing with 25 off 13 deliveries.
The big question is the injury status of Marcus Stoinis. Will he be able to bat if required?
“I think before we came here, we identified that it probably wasn’t going to be a 200 wicket,” Ryan Burl says.
“We targeted around 170, so I think it’s a box ticked for us.”
I reckon that’s maybe 10 runs under par you’d think, but I wonder whether there’s any scoreboard pressure for the Aussies.
If Zimbabwe can pick up some early wickets, they’ll be in with a huge shout here.

20th over – Ellis to bowl the last over of the innings
Ellis starts with a slower one that Bennett tries to ramp over the keeper, but he fails to make contact.
A slower bouncer that time and Bennett rips out a tennis forehand-like shot and picks up two runs down the ground.
Another wide yorker from Ellis, and he’s right on the money again and Bennett can’t do anything with it. Excellent over so far from Australia’s death specialist.
Ellis comes around the wicket and it’s another slower delivery and Bennett mistimes it down the ground for a single.
Ellis goes quicker and shorter and Raza mistimes a pull shot into the leg side and picks up another two runs.
SIX! Raza finishes the innings with the first six of the day!
Ellis goes for a full yorker but he gets this one horribly wrong and Raza sweeps him over the rope. That’s right in his wheelhouse.

19th over – Zampa to bowl his final over of the innings
Two overs to go, how many more can Zimbabwe get?
Zampa will bowl one of them, and my guess is Ellis will bowl the last one.
Zampa gives it some air to start with and Raza slogs him into the leg side and picks up a couple of runs.
Raza thumps the next ball down the ground for a single to bring Bennett on strike.
More air from Zampa, Big Air, if you’re a Winter Olympics fan, and it’s heaved into the leg side from Bennett. Good fielding from Maxwell in the deep to keep it to one run.
The next one is hit wayyyyyy up in the air by Raza, and it lands in no-man’s land and they pick up another single.
This has been a great over from Zampa.
Bennett heaves another one into the leg side and again Maxwell keeps it to a single.
Raza with a good little flick off the final delivery to pick up two and they’ve got to settle for eight off the over.
Zampa finishes his four-over spell with figures of 0-31. That’s a good result for Zimbabwe.

18th over – Dwarshius returns to the attack
FOUR! Dwarshius gets onto the legs of Sikandar Raza and Raza flicks it fine past fine leg, who is up in the circle. Poor start to the over that.
SWING AND A MISS! Dwarshius with a slower length delivery. Raza goes for an almighty heave and fails to make contact.
FOUR MORE! He’s picked the slower one that time! 105kph from Dwarshius, and Raza belts it through the covers for a boundary.
Dwarshius goes over the wicket and goes shorter and Raza pulls him into the leg side for a single. Good over so far for Zimbabwe, they’d love a couple of boundaries to finish it.
DROPPED! Bennett goes for a slog on the leg side but doesn’t make great contact, the ball is dying on Matt Kuhnemann, the fielder in the deep, and he drops it as he comes forward and they pick up two more runs.
FOUR! Another slower one from Dwarshius that goes to the boundary! It’s shorter and Bennett muscles it over mid-off’s head. That’s an extremely difficult shot to execute.
15 runs off the over for Zimbabwe, excellent stuff.

17th over – Sikandar Raza the new batter as Ellis returns
Nathan Ellis back into the attack and he starts with a full delivery that Bennett hits out to the off side for a single.
That brings Zimbabwe’s captain, Sikandar Raza to the crease. He’s got the most T20 runs ever for Zimbabwe.
Starts with a length delivery and Raza cracks it into the off side for a single.
Bennett suddenly looming as the key for the remaining overs here. He’s got to bat through you’d think.
Wide yorker from Ellis and he absolutely nails it this time, Bennett reaches and can’t make any connection.
Another good yorker-length delivery and Bennett digs it down the ground for a single. Good over this from Ellis so far, just three off four deliveries.
Ellis goes quicker, aimed at Raza’s hips and the Zimbabwe skipper can’t get it away. The run rate dips under eight for the first time in a long time.
Excellent delivery to end the over, another full length delivery and Raza can’t do much aside from digging it out and calling Bennett through for a single.
Great over for Australia. Zimbabwe has managed just 36 off the last five overs. They need to accelerate badly here, given the wickets in hand.

CAUGHT! Green grabs a wicket to end the over!
Cam Green finishes off the Stoinis over and he’s gotten a massive wicket!
Goes for a bouncer, which Burl looks to pull to the leg side, but he only succeeds in top edging that and the sub fielder Xavier Bartlett takes a good catch.
Ryan Burl c Bartlett (sub) b Green 35 (31), FOW: 2-131

16th over – Stoinis off injured after copping brutal blow to the hand
Stoinis back into the attack. He’s been the pick of the Australian bowlers today.
Burl heaves the first one into the leg side and picks up a single to start the over.
A terrific yorker from Stoinis, gets the ball to fly in between Bennett’s two feet and past leg stump. Not much you can do about that delivery.
Full toss from Stoinis as he misses on another yorker attempt, and Bennett picks up another single on the off side.
FOUR! Burl reads Stoinis’s slower ball and smacks it back over his head for another boundary. Terrific hitting that!
STOINIS HURT! Oh boy. Stoinis with a full toss and Burl cracks it straight back at him and it’s struck Stoinis on his left hand.
He’s saved a certain four runs there, but might have broken his wrist.
Stoinis is cradling his hand in his other arm and he’s walking straight off the ground with a team doctor. That doesn’t look good at all.

15th over – Zampa continues after drinks as Aussies hunt wickets
Australia desperately in need of some wickets here, otherwise things could get ugly.
Adam Zampa back into the attack. He’s got two overs left.
Starts with a quicker one, and Burl dabs it into the leg side for no run.
Two straight dots, another good delivery from Zampa, almost a yorker that’s dug out by Burl.
Zampa flights up the next one and Burl works it through the leg side for a single. They don’t seem to want to take on Zampa, which I don’t mind as a tactic.
FOUR! Much-needed boundary! It was quicker but not all that short, but Bennett rocks back and cuts it through the off side, bisecting the fielders inside the ring.
Bennett flicks Zampa through the leg side and brings up his half-century off 43 deliveries. Excellent stuff!
Burl finishes with another single, as Zimbabwe picks up another seven runs off that Zampa over.

14th over – Dwarshius back into the attack
Righto, seven overs to go, how many more can Zimbabwe get with nine wickets in hand?
10 an over gets them to 176 from here, which would be a great result.
Dwarshius back into the attack, starts with a slower one and Burl flicks him to fine leg for a single.
FOUR! Mid off up in the circle and Bennett cracks a length delivery down the ground for a boundary. It was a normal seam-up delivery that time from Dwarshius.
Dwarshius goes slower and Bennett reads it well, lofts it into the leg side and picks up a pair of runs. It seems like they’ve shifted gears here, I like it.
Bennett now has the most T20I runs of full-member sides at the age of 22 beating Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
He backs away and cracks the next one down and there’s a good bit of fielding from Maxwell that limits the batters to a single.
Dwarshius with another slower bouncer, and there’s a very belated wide call. Nothing going the Aussie’s way here! I think it’s the right call though.
Dwarshius goes fuller and Burl cracks him down to deep mid-on for another single.
Bennett backs away again and juuust gets to a slower delivery, picks up another two to end the over.
Zimbabwe going at 9.2 runs an over in the last five overs, and most importantly, they’ve got nine wickets in the shed. They’re a decent chance to get to 200 here if things break right.
1h agoFri 13 Feb 2026 at 6:30am
13th over – Kuhnemann to bowl his third over
Matt Kuhnemann getting two in a row here, a rarity for the Aussie bowlers this afternoon.
BEATEN! Gets one to go on straight with the arm, and Burl’s swipe attempt is unsuccessful.
Kuhnemann gets straighter with the next delivery, and Burl works him through the leg side for a single and brings up the 100-run mark for Zimbabwe.
Kuhnemann stays over the wicket for Bennett, looking to cramp him up, and Bennett works him into the leg side for a single.
FOUR! Excellent shot from Burl, it’s a standing reverse lap shot, and he gets absolutely all of it over the in-field for a boundary. Zimbabwe continues to tick along.
Kuhnemann comes over the wicket and goes quicker at Burl’s pads and it’s a dot ball.
Burl flicks the next one off his pads for a single to end another good over, seven off it.
1h agoFri 13 Feb 2026 at 6:25am
12th over – Burl makes his move as Ellis returns to the attack
Nathan Ellis and his variations are back.
Burl cracks the first ball through the off side and picks up another two runs.
I wonder when exactly Zimbabwe will begin their launch here?
FOUR! That’ll help! Ellis with a slower bouncer and Burl swivels into a pull shot and absolutely cracks it to the square leg boundary.
Ellis goes fuller and faster on the off-side and Burl mistimes an off-drive attempt. He’ll feel he’s missed out there.
FOUR MORE! BANG! He’s absolutely nailed the hell out of a back of the hand slower ball there, Burl, smacks it straight over Ellis’s head.
Ellis with a wide yorker, and this is given a wide, I reckon that was harsh. It looked like he’d snuck that one inside the train tracks, but replays show that it was actually wide. Excellent call from the umpire. Not a bad idea that from Ellis.
He comes around the wicket and Burl picks up a quick single with an off-drive. Good running again from the batters.
Good delivery from Ellis to end the over as Bennett can do nothing but awkwardly knock it back down the pitch.
1h agoFri 13 Feb 2026 at 6:21am
11th over – Kuhnemann returns to the attack
Bennett flicks Kuhnemann’s first delivery down to midwicket for another single.
Zimbabwe ticking along nicely here at just under eight an over. They’ll back themselves to accelerate later if they’ve got wickets in hand.
Burl cuts away Kuhnemann’s next delivery and picks up another two to the man in the deep. Good running again.
Kuhnemann gets leg side and Burl again picks up another two, this time on the leg side.
He follows that up with a ho-hum single down to mid-on. The boundaries may not be coming, but Zimbabwe aren’t getting bogged down here.
Bennett reaches for the next delivery and unleashes an almighty slog and he’s lucky he’s not timed that, otherwise he’d be caught at deep mid-on. Instead, he picks up a single.
Burl flicks the final delivery into the leg side for a single and Zimbabwe picks up another seven runs off that over. They’re doing it easy right now.
1h agoFri 13 Feb 2026 at 6:16am
10th over – Cam Green comes into the attack
Cam Green gets his first look at the Zimbabweans.
He’s around the wicket to the left-handed Burl, and starts with a leg bye as Burl doesn’t make contact on an attempted pull shot.
BEATEN! Back of a length from Green and it’s a cross-seamer again that leaves Bennett slightly and he’s beaten in his prod attempt.
A similar delivery to follow, but this time Bennett makes contact, picking up another single with a square drive.
Green gets fuller and straighter and Burl whips him off the pads for a single.
Zimbabwe continuing to just tick things over here, things in a bit of a holding pattern.
Green goes for a short delivery and it flies over Josh Inglis’s head, but he gets a glove on it to stop it from going for a boundary. Good running again, they’re able to pick up two. That one was well over Bennett’s head.
Bennett gives himself room with the next delivery and cracks it past point again and picks up a single.
CAUGHT BEHIND APPEAL! Green sends one down the leg side and Burl’s flick attempt is beaten. Inglis convinced again. Head again sends it upstairs.
Another dreadful review from Australia. Burl has missed that one by a country mile. I think we can put Josh Inglis in the Marnus category when it comes to reviews.
Australia all out of its reviews with 10 overs to go now. Thanks, Josh.

9th over – Zampa to continue after first wicket
Bennett drives Zampa down to mid-on and picks up another two, excellent running again from Zimbabwe.
Bennett now going at over a run a ball after his slow start.
He dabs Zampa’s next ball into the leg side and picks up another single.
Zampa gets his first look at the left-handed Burl.
LBW APPEAL! Burl goes for a reverse sweep but makes little contact. Zampa with a muted appeal, which is given not out.
Burl is able to work the next one through the leg side for a single.
Zampa goes shorter and Bennett tries to pull it away, but can’t quite make any solid contact, in the end probably lucky to not get bowled.
Zampa gives the next one a bit more air and Bennett square drives him nicely and picks up another couple of runs. Six runs off that over.
