Environment Canada ends special weather statement for region

A special weather statement has been ended by Environment Canada for Greater Sudbury and area, Espanola — Killarney and Manitoulin Island.
The statement was issued this morning, saying to expect brief bursts of heavy snow and poor visibility from this morning into this afternoon.
“Areas of heavy snow giving brief periods of very poor visibility are moving through northeastern Ontario this morning,” the statement reads. “Accumulations should be limited to around 5 cm of snow.”
Environment Canada warned that travel would likely be hazardous due to poor visibility and advised postponing non-essential travel.
With the passing of the system, the weather statement was ended at around 3:45 p.m.
