Winter Olympics 2026 live updates: The latest from Day 8 of the Games including curling and alpine skiing

A much-needed (and slightly surprising) win for Britain in the women’s curling, as they beat world champions Canada (sorry) 7-6.

That gets the British team back into the competition after defeats in their first two matches.

The Brits were 7-4 up going into the final end and had last-stone advantage, but the Canadians did not go down quietly. With three Canadian stones in the house, GB skipper Rebecca Morrison knew she had to take out at least one of them to seal the win. And she did.

The result leaves both teams with one win from three games in the round-robin. The US team has two wins from three, while Sweden leads the way with a 100% record after three games.
