Who Is Olympic Hockey Player Brady Tkachuk’s Wife? All About Emma Tkachuk

Brady Tkachuk has spent most of his life in high-pressure hockey environments — from leading the Ottawa Senators as one of the NHL’s most visible young captains to competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Drafted fourth overall by Ottawa in 2018 after a single season at Boston University, Brady quickly established himself as more than just the son of former NHL star Keith Tkachuk or the younger brother of Florida Panthers standout Matthew Tkachuk.

Off the ice, Brady is married to Emma Tkachuk. Their relationship began during his Boston University days, and the couple wed in 2023. The following year, Brady and Emma welcomed a son named Ryder.

Before she met Brady, hockey had long been part of Emma’s life. She is the sister of John Farinacci, a forward for the Providence Bruins and a former standout at Harvard University.

Her other brother, Anthony Farinacci, also has ties to the sport — most recently, he played for Tufts University. Emma’s cousin, Ryan Donato, also plays in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Brady and Emma’s relationship traces back to a narrow window in Brady’s career — his lone season at Boston University during the 2017–18 year — and what they now describe as an unexpectedly ordinary beginning.

“Our first date was in the dining hall,” Brady told The Athletic in 2023. “It was really romantic.” Emma remembered the moment a little more logistically. “I think I might have swiped us both in,” she said.

A second date followed soon after, this time off campus at a local pizza shop across the street from BU. But despite moving in similar circles, the timing for the couple hadn’t lined up before.

“We figured it all out after we met, but it’s kind of crazy how we never ran into each other before,” Brady said to the outlet. “We just knew a lot of the same people.”

Roughly a year later, the pair relocated to Canada after Brady signed with the Senators.

They married in 2023

Brady and Emma married in June 2023. Speaking of the attention their nuptials received, Brady told The Athletic, “I wouldn’t say it’s weird, but I remember seeing pics of our guest list and where people were seated on Twitter. It was more funny than uncomfortable.”

Brady and Emma announced their union in a coauthored Instagram post on July 24, 2023, simply captioned, “Mr. & Mrs.” The photo showed them in their wedding attire, with Emma’s hand resting on Brady’s chest, seemingly looking out a window.

Brady and Emma welcomed their first child, Ryder Keith Tkachuk, on Sept. 16, 2024. He was born on the same day as Brady’s 25th birthday.

According to an Instagram post shared by the couple, Ryder’s middle name honors Brady’s father, Keith.

The arrival of their son coincided with the start of the Ottawa Senators training camp. “It’s been unbelievable,” Brady said after his first on-ice session, per NHL.com. “Emma was a complete trooper throughout the whole process. I know it was a lot longer than we probably both expected, but she was amazing.”

He added that leaving his family to report to camp was difficult, calling it “a tough goodbye,” but emphasized how meaningful fatherhood had already been. In October 2024, Ryder visited his dad and uncle Matthew at a hockey game.
